Ah, how about a list of ingredients for each food item you listed. That's of much greater importance that the percentages of the macronutrients or calories. Unfortunately that seem to be what everyone gets caught up in.

I believe that you should always check your facts before printing an article. How many of these items on the menu claim to be "healthy"? I know for a fact that your article on the Applebee's roll up is false. The chicken is grilled not fried and the "mexi ranch" sauce is served on the side not "squirt in as much sauce as they want without making it look messy" This roll up also never claims to be healthy. Applebee's does offer "weight watcher" items that are in fact more on the healthier side. If you are going to print a story print one with more facts and not just one sided.

Excellent article. Thank you. Since my husband used to be a chef, I already knew a lot of what you mentioned, another reason why we don't go out to eat much. If people knew what went on in nearly every restaurant kitchen, and the lack of hygiene or adherence to sanitation/health-minded watchful cooking and management personnel, they would NEVER go out to eat.

This type of article is seldom well reported. Calories and carbs are not bad, in fact they are good for you. The problem is the number of "good" vs "bad" calories and carbs in a meal. It doesn't matter if a "full" dinner is 2000 calories and 100 carbs if the portion you should be eating for your dinner is half. What reporters need to do is take the time to point out that an average person should only eat say half a plate of spagetti from... and that gives you x% of your daily x. Lazy reporting is usually miss leading.

Wow, you have just ignored most of the problems with most of the sandwiches being served up in America today and focused on saturated fat that is NOT a problem. Why don't you guys stop disguising yourselves as knowledgeable nutrition experts and tell the people who and what you are really about, to promote garbage from the people that sponsor you. ALL GRAINS, SUGARS, and CORNSTARCH are the bad guys in regard to heart disease and saturated fat is NOT. BAD oils, like soybean, canola, cottonseed, corn oils are the really bad guys! Please get some education and then get a forum that will not require you to promote the garbage! This indoctrination that is going on here is just unbelievable, truly!

This guy is just ripping off other columns for ideas. Someone else on Yahoo did pretty much the exact same review not too long ago.

Fat people: Don't be angry with David and his great articles. Do the people who have to look at you a favor, and cut some calories, eat healthier, and exercise for once in your life. You will probably live longer too.

Even if not for the sodium - flavor is enhanced by other chemicals for the "vegetarian" meals. Start at the grocery store to see what individual items/ingredients of a meal entail nutritionally. Look up the chemical names. You may be surprised.

Give me a break- I work in the food service industry and if you look closely at marketing of these items, they do not claim they are a healthier choice. Ask the employees what the ingredients are. They should do or they are not doing their job. Then comes the personal responsibility piece. If you do not know that cheese and corn chips and pecans and salad dressing are high in calories and in fat don't blame them. We are not your momma!!

Good grief, these are posted like every week. It's getting old and frankly useless. People practice common sense when they eat out. We don't need this kind of crap spoon-fed to us every other week or so. Read the menus, nutritional contents. Make up your own minds.

Once again, these fools do not take into account how real people eat. Do they honestly think people would choose one of these items to eat all of the time? Not to mention the fact that they NEVER take into account differences in body type, metabolism, etc. They demonstrate as much knowledge about food adn diet as a first-grader does about quantum physics. Combine that with their facist way of talking to people, they become an embarassment to this website. Yahoo, it is time to send these idiots into oblivion!

That is so true about TGI Fridays! I emailed them to ask for the nutritional content and thier excuse was "since the ingredients in each resturant differ, we cannot accurately disclose nutrtional content of any dish" That kind of loaded crap is that? Like we're stupid or something? I just eventually stopped eating there, and if by chance I happen to eat there again I will be making the best attempt possible to eat what i think is right. Thank you so much for posting this, I read your articles every week! :-)
