Even though I am long gone from my home in Philly I try to read the Inquirer as often as I can. I am glad about this information and it is nice to know that I do not eat any of the items thadt were mentioned as being the worst. In fact, I avoid just about all of these places. Where are the vegetables? If you are an expert on nutrition then why are you advising to eat something else off the fast food menu instead of the bad item. You should not even mention fast food as an alternative. What about a nice home cooked meal with no preservatives, no additives, nothing processed etc.

I really liked this article. I thought it was really helpful and I was astounded at how many calories, grams of fat, and sodium some of my favorite fast food items have. I'm also glad to know about some better alternatives. From now on I'm gonna be more cautious about what I eat and drink and where I get those things.

I can't wait to slam my mouth full of a Hardee's Monster Thickburger. The rest of you enjoy your tofu and bean sprouts.

Wake up people! Stop thinking about yourself and your free choice and think of the future. Our kids are already overweight and health care cost a fortune. It's obvious our diets affects us. We are what we eat. Your children's children will really appreciate it if you cared about what you put in your body now. Do you know what REAL FOOD is?

kleapllumaj you are really stupid defending fast food because the kids will eat it. You obviously have no control over your life or your kids.

I am disabled due to degenerative disc disease and a couple of unsuccessful surgeries, so I can't exercise much. I eat usually twice per day. For the past 4 or 5 months, I have been eating one Jimmy Dean De lite Breakfast sandwitch (Whole grain muffin, turkey sausage patty, egg white patty, and lite cheese square) and one foot long turkey sandwich from Subway with lots of vegetables and I have managed to lose 15lbs. so far. Oh, sometimes, for desert, I have 3 tablespoons of non-fat yogurt mixed with 1 1/2 cups of milk and two to three cups of Cheerios. Works for me and keeps my Cholesterol and triglycerides in line.

No matter your age, your exercise habits, or anything else, eating "fast foods" is deadly. And, that's a shame. Companies like McDonalds, Taco Bell, Arbys, etc, etc, should be the leaders in helping Americans utilize the limited funds they have, not scalping them with all this "garbage". I know, "But it tastes great". Maybe so, but if these people keep handing out this much junk, they will be killing off their customer base. Look what's happening in our school system. A large percentage of our kids are already fat, and many of them are already diabetes prone because of what they eat.

I am happy to say that I have never had any of those foods listed in this post. I am astounded at the information and think that some foods should be illegal to sell and distribute. Americans are killing themselves.
