    i don't eat at many chains if i do it is with friends right after work and before dinner this gives me a great deal of info on what not to eat.

    I don't eat out that often, but when I do, I make sure that I skip both the appetizers and desserts. People can still find healthy choices at restaurants, you just have to look. For instance, I love Olive Garden, but I always order GRILLED food....nothing fried or drenched in sauces or gravies.

    I agree that these foods are extremely high calorie, but it should also be taken into consideration that appetizers are meant to be shared, and usually shared with more than one person. Are these calorie counts for individual servings? I doubt it.

    OK, but I think most people that order appetizers are sharing with other people (like maybe 3) and do so as an occasional indulgence.
