And you consider this as good advice! There are low-fat fruit yougurts with only 70 cal, like Dannon; thus, no need to eat substitues. You took high fat fruit yougurt to make your point and want to announce a discovery!

Kashi seems to be a good alternative. Honey flax has 4 grams of fiber, 5 grams of sugar

Food is NOT HEALTHY!!!!!! Food is dead! Food can, however, be HEALTHFUL. I am sick and tired of so called professioals using the word 'healthy' so incorrectly! People are healthy, food is healthful. End of story. (that is unless you're on Fear Factor and the food's still wiggling as it goes down your throat. THAT might be healthy food) Get with the program guys.

What a silly article. Each of the "alternatives" completely lacks convenience factor. I appreciate the warning regarding granola, bagels, etc., but telling people to replace their "one hand" food with "knife and fork" food isn't really helpful or practical advice given how most people eat breakfast and/or snack.

This is not what you could call "cutting edge" information. Anyone who doesn't already have a handle on this information is seriously playing catchup in their knowledge of nutrition

Le't see David; do I want a tasty Granola Bar (200 calories,15 g sugars) or 1 oz of rat food cheddar cheese with Triscuits (150 calories, 5 g sugars)?

Most of these comments are not helpful. There are plenty of healthy granola bars if you look outside your average mega-mart. Whole Foods and Trader Joes have excellent choices. Try Kashi bars, they are sold at Target. Secondly telling someone to eat eggs and cheese is ridiculous. Hello, cholesterol, anyone? The only helpful info in here is to eat an apple. Duh. I tried to keep a vegan diet because is your safest bet but I'm a flexatarian, which helps keep me fairly healthy!
