I like to go to Subway, fart in the sandwich artist's face and run out without buying anything.

HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP IS NOT SYNTHETIC. Heck, its not even all that high in fructose, which is a simple sugar. It's only high in fructose compared to regular corn syrup. I'm tired of people demonizing this innocent sugar.. so they spin some corn starch in a vat really fast and it makes fructose.. whats the big deal? People cook things all the time, does that make everything we eat synthetic? Are those synthetic eggs because you cooked them over easy? Get a grip.

Finally an article about processed junk foods that pervade the shelves, stores and restaurants and market themselves as healthy. Most people have no idea how bad their diet is with the kinds of foods out there and deceptive marketing practices. For those who wonder what to eat that's truly healthy, it's not rocket science, whole foods grown from the earth and from the flesh of animals and fish that you have to prepare yourself is what humans are meant to consume; you can't trust pandering companies to be looking for our best interests. If one is truly concerned about health, food should be eaten for function rather than taste most of the time.

High fructose corn syrup isn't synthetic. It's 55% fructose, 45% glucose (table sugar is 50% fructose, 50% glucose). Enzymes are addes to change glucose to fructose and then more glucose in the form of corn syrup is added. How is that synthetic?

I don't eat most of the stuff on this article's list. It's a NO brainer on most of the items too. ANYONE with a brain can read labels & realize that the sugar grams per serving is outrageous on a LOT of items, not just these. Since I started paying more attention to the sugar & fat contents on the labels, my son & I've lost about 40 lbs combined. I've got way more to go than he does but we're on our way. In closing, READ THE FOOD LABELS PEOPLE!
