I would like to know if you drink the ginger tea in the morning after your night on the town, is it still as effective?

As ginger tea is not readily available on the market in Malawi, water comes in handy. However, I'm not sure as to whether to drink alot of water immediately after the binge or later when the hangover is taking its toll, is the better solutotion

I find that drinking plenty of water prior to a night of heavy drinking works the best in preventing hangovers. Also, attempt to supplement a glass of water in between drinks and definitely a glass or two prior to falling asleep for the night. In the event water doesn't do the trick, I have never found herbal teas of any kind to work effectively the next morning but I have found Gatorade to help with the morning headache as it adds valuable minerals back into your body that was lost during the night.

We can see that the common ingredient in all the drinks is water. Mixing your drinking with water will keep the hangovers at bay. Sometimes it is hard to find a bar with Ginger tea, or Hot water for that matter.

Last Christmas, I had a few beers with friends that went till 3am and 2 hours later I was already awake and ready to play a round of golf at 7am. I mean, I don't make the habit of drinking alcohol, but why is it that whenever I go to sleep after drinking, I always get up earlier than usual.

Rubbish, avoid a hangover by not drinking to excess. Learn you tolerance level and stick to it. Drinking water is good in general as alcohol will make one urinate more and it has to be replace. There are no proven methods to cure a hangover but to drink less. Dr. Mao, what is your degree? Your evidence is largely anecdotal

jacob, you wake up earlier because alcohol disrupts athe bodys natural sleep cycle. You never really get a restful sleep with alcohol, and it's use for insomnia (though that's not what you were doing) is not advised for this reason.

Hi Dr Mau, Headaches are the most common hangover problem...but the stomach can also be effected and badly upset...and for this...toast and tea helps....heavy, dense whole grain bread which is toasted very dark brown (not burnt) and eated dry with no butter and along with this.... strong black tea...sipped slowly....some time to rest and meditate...and soon one will feel better.

This article is interesting, but who really has chrysanthemum flowers, mint leaves and fesh ginger root in their house on a regular basis? I guess I'm sticking with good ole plain water.
