This is funny I cam across this today. I took a half hour nap today after work and feel extremely refreshed. Everytime I take a name I always wandered why I felt so much better ... when I dont nap I dont feel as good. Always wandered how sleep for only 15 minutes always worked. My mother would say the same thing... nice... Now I know that its good to take naps I will try to fit in one a day if possible. My problem is actually sitting down a relaxing... without distractions. I use to come home from school everyday and take a quick nap.... up until I graduated... and always felt so much better it helped me to concentrate better the next day... AWESOME!!! ARTICLE!!!! Thanks!

I feel the need to nap about 30 minutes after lunch, but can not afford to do so in the office. it would not be a good example to the other staff. So I try to overcome this by drinking a cup of coffee, and I become addicted to it, which is not good for my rheuma.

I have been taking naps since I was a teenager. Over 30 years of napping. My father is the same way. I take it that I got it from him. I love my naps. For me it can be 5 to 30 min is perfect. Depends on where I’m taking the nap. I take one almost daily and almost anywhere. Waiting on a flight, at the doctor’s office, at my desk…it doesn’t make any difference. I always thought that taking a nap just meant that I was always tired even though I almost always get 8 hours of sleep. I always feel more focused and alert after my nap. Even my wife can look at me and know when I’m ready to take that little shut eye. I love them. From a napper…Thomas A.

If only employers would believe that this could help their bottom line. Naps are *so* important. Right now there is such a cultural bias against them.

I am on medication and I find my self most days taking two hour naps. I think because I am bored or I will just overeat as usual -out of boredom. How can I stop this cycle? thank you
