It makes a good case for spending less time at the computer. I believe electronics can be a drain on our energy if we're around them too much. That's why it should be offset by some time spent outdoors or in nature. Good article Dr. Mao.

After having disc problems in my neck for several years I finally had surgery. I work at a computer all day and often play on one at night. I have to watch my posture as sitting incorrectly irritates my neck, back and shoulder muscles. I believe the mouse could be the worst thing for the upper back muscles ever invented. I lift weights to offset the damage and the pain has decreased a great amount. Because working at a computer has become our way of life, I have had to learn these things to correct the damage. Thank goodness there are things like exercises and sitting properly that we can do.

The "flat screen" advice is true, just one little error, i think you mean "flat panel" monitors, because there is also tube monitors with "flat screens" but still big and bulky and use more energy and give off radiation. The flat panel monitors are the way to go to reduce your radiatioin exposure while conserving energy.
