my daughter is three years old, and her teeth are decaying. I was wondering if it was ok to let them just fall on their own or should i go along with the dental surgery? my consern is, is how will this effect her permanet teeth, and will getting root canals damage the teeth that have yet to come in? also can i just treat the decay with surgery, without having to get the root canal? it is the four frount teeth.

Dr. Mao, is it four mg of folic acid or four mcg? Isn't folic acid usually measured in micrograms in the US? Just wondering so that I don't take too much!

FLOSS! FLOSS! FLOSS!!! Brushing alone cannot maintain oral health because the bristles cannot get under the gumline and in between the teeth. Daily flossing distrupts bacteria colonies and reduces the amount of toxins that are produced by these organized bacteria. These toxins not only cause bad breath but cause the healthy cells that line the gums to sluff allowing toxins and bacteria into the blood stream. Brushing alone is not effective in accessing these hard to reach areas..if flossing is not your thing, toothpicks are a good second choice.

I just viseted a dentist and he told me that toothpicks are too dangerous for gums, since they can hurt them more that helping them. He told me to FLOSS and BRUSH.

i noticed that there is no mention of the use of dental floss or any other recommendation for cleaning interdentally. Periodontal disease is a leading cause of halitosis.
