It can get tiring trying to remember the dos and don't's associated with food. But these things are important. I think we need to quit burying our heads in the sand and be proactive about our health. I still feel like our nutrition and that of our kids is the biggest priority. I keep hearing this generation will not outlive their parents. Food is a priority. And a discipline. It's time to take it seriously!!

I agree with #15! My husband and I stopped using the microwave 3 years ago and don't miss it at all. I clean my stove, kitchen sink and bathrooms with baking soda and love it. I'm thankful for the advice on the pots and pans. We know our nonstick are bad, but didn't know what to replace them with...now I know!

I just wanted to point out some inaccuracies in Mao's article. First, microwave ovens do not cook by blasting the food with "particles". They use radio waves, which cause the water molecules in the food to heat up. Secondly, microwave cooking, in itself, does NOT cause infertility in men. Nor does eating microwave cooked food. Infertility could be caused if the oven is defective and is leaking radiation, and you are standing close to it while it is in operation. If you maintain a safe distance from the oven while cooking, you will not be affected. You can buy a microwave leakage detector at any electronics or appliance store to find out if your oven is safe.

I would sure like it if one of the articles like this cite verifiable research not just urban legends. Also if we avoided everything that could possible cause cancer we couldn't ever do anything. If this information is true, we are already in trouble as that descibes the kitchen most of us grew up with.

This guy's a quack. Microwaves do not use "super-fast particles" to "radiate" your food. They use radiation to heat your food. The radio waves excite the water molecules in the food and cause them to heat up, thus heating your food. There is no different effect on proteins than with other cooking methods.

Finally! Someone who recognizes the dangers of microwaves. I haven't known about this for too long- I wish someone would have told me sooner!
