Excellent advice Dr. Mao! This should be an every day occurrence. Not something one waits to do in the spring time after months of inactivity. They're likely to crystalize on the couch while they wait.

You're right. Excercise, exercise, exercise! It will help keep you fit and help fight off so many diseases and illnesses. I like to take long walks myself. Good article Dr. Mao.

I like your column. I am hypothyroid and I have to shock my metabolism into losing weight. I walk 4-6 miles 6 days a week and I look forward to it. I haven't seen any huge results but I'm determined to keep this up. My son is getting married in OCtober and I will be in a size 8. No doubt!

shena.johnson... you should try jazzercise or any dance-aerobics class. Jazzercise is fun (and easy to learn) because you get to dance your way thru your exercise..
go to www.jazzercise.com to find a class near you.
