Love beans! I make black bean dip to go with tortilla chips. Sometimes top it off with sour cream and hot sauce. Very good!

I have been a bean lover for many years! Yes, they pack a nutritional punch, help lower cholesterol, and are delicious. Of course, one wants use them in optimal amounts. Too many beans make for awkward social mingling.

In answer to the guy who wants to know if beans are better than eating lots of meat or protein shakes for building muscles, I would say that beans are definitely healthier than meat. Not sure about the protein shakes. But meat contains unhealthy fat and cholesterol, while beans have no cholesterol and only healthy types of fat. This is why vegetarians have lower rates of heart disease (the leading cause of death in America) than meat eaters.

I'm a professional chef... cook beans with carrots, or the herb epazote...most effective. Also, do not add salt or any acid to the beans until they are finished cooking or they will remain hard.
