I'd also add coffee to the list. Studies have shown coffee contains cancer fighting properties if consumed in moderation, just like dark chocolate, which should add years to your life. Also try coffee made with Green Beans, they contain more antioxidant than many fruits. Tea is good too, but don't give up coffee. Look, the typical average lifespan of Chinese in China is around 70yrs - they drink a lot of tea. But average lifespan of American is around 80yrs, but they drink a lot of coffee. So which is better?

Straight water, even filtered, gives me heartburn. Soda gives me indigestion and bloating. Coffee and tea does not. Tea works better than coffee.

Great tips to share w/ my wife, who hates calcium rich foods; but loves carbonated drinks. She has had 3 babies & has had bone loss, most noteable in her teeth. I keep telling her, we won't be young forever. Thanks for such good "FREE" info. Jeff from Indiana

Dr. Mao, you're an ehtnocentric crackpot. Coffee has 1,000 years of epidemiological evidence of human consumption proving that it is pretty much irrelevant to your health. Worst of all, I resent your quack science approach by deconstructing whole foods into their "interchangable", molecular compounds. This is as much bad science as suggesting that we all get sickle-cell anemia to stave off malaria.
