I was eating instant oatmeal just about every day for a few months, and it helped keep my LDL in check. I believe broccoli also helps, and green tea I feel confident helps as well. In general for keeping LDL down, keep away from fatty foods (especially anything fried) and be more active. Just these two things make a huge difference.

I am good to go on all the other foods, but homemade orange marmalade, I hadn't considered, Dr. Mao. I am a big fan of oranges as a whole fruit, so making marmalade from its hull will simply be matter of taking the idea to the next level. Thanks P. W. Dowdy

I've eaten a bowl of oatmeal in the morning and a bowl of cheerios at night as a snack and took 43 points off my LDL's in 8months. Not to mention the success these two have on regularity.

I am concerned about PESTICIDES in orange peels. I don't see any organic oranges in the grocery store and most people don't buy organic. Like potatoes, the skin may be full of nutrition AND chemicals.

Nice concise article that was not too lengthy. Kept my interest and did not make me fall asleep with technical jargon.

Those of us that have been diagnosed with calcium kidney stones should be cautious as to the amount of "green food" items we consume. Green leafy vegtables and green teas are high on the list to avoid if calcium kidney stones are a problem and should be avoided.
