I thank you for this helpful informationon the importance of eating an apple a day. I now understand why my hair will not grow as it should and why I am always having kidney and bladder infections . I also wear a wig due to my fast pace schedule. Give me some tips on the dangers and how I may still be able to wear wigs but at the same time keep my hair growing and looking healthyalong with eating apples.

i've been drinking mostly apple juice since my gerd (acid reflux) discovery. it does seem to relieve the symptoms for me. would like to know if others have had a similar experience. also curious like some of the others as to whether equivalent general benefits come from juice as from whole apples. thanks.

I'm an orchardist, so I know my apples. The benefits to health are amazing. Some of you commented on the lack of flavor of apples that you purchased in the store. They are probably CA, controlled atmosphere. This is a process that deoxidized the apple so that the apple will keep in storage. I have to admit that this process does affect the flavor considerably. Our family is fortunate enough to market them fresh, so that the long storage process is not needed. Most apples sold in stores are also coated with wax, once again not a flavor saver, but it does add to the shelf life of the apple. Support your local orchards, and get fresh off the tree fruit, the benefits are endless.
