I have often used ginger in a hot bath when I feel a bad cold come on, then wrap myself up warm and go to sleep. I usually feel MUCH better when I wake up.

Hi ,I have tried most of the things you have mentioned and you are right, they really do work and they work great. but I have heard that all mushrooms are toxic. Most medical doctors believe that mushrooms, no matter what kind they are, are infected with mycotoxins. Is this true? These are doctors who believe in all natural things like herbs and vitamins. I love mushrooms, so say it ain't so. jafaye3

maybe use some anti funk ideas, like, wash your hands and sanitize things you touch and maybe just maybe don't go out in public if you are that sick!

This is news? This is just an ad, containing bland generalities and some suggestions that I would like to see put to the test, such as the purported benefits of using pouches or wraps of herbs around the abdomin. Ok, maybe a warm wrap is beneficial. And maybe herbs are beneficial. But wrapping pouches of herbs around your belly? This reminds me of the "pocket full of posies" to ward off the plague. Don't you have to either inhale or ingest herbs to get anything out of them, unless they are being used as a poultice? I don't get how hanging pouches of them around your middle is supposed to do anything but give you a mystical belief. Does this guy also believe that hanging sprigs of herbs on the wall will ward off evil spirits? It amazes me that this factoid-laden advertisement was presented as news. Kudos on spreading the word about certain helpful things like ginger and so forth, even though they are pretty much common knowledge now. But the 'pouches around the middle' part was a bit silly.

I think these are tips are very useful! It's good to see some natural remedy ideas. I wasn't aware that you shouldn't excercise when you have a cold, but it makes sense not to. Thanks!

When I'm sick I eat as little processed food as possible, and if I'm in the beginning of a cold, I'll take Thera Flu and sleep a lot. That usually kills the cold pretty quickly.
