I made my living as a nurse for nearly 40 years. We used to laugh at these studies that showed what the researchers wanted them to show. My mom had breast cancer with a radical mastectomy and a recurrence 4 years later, followed by a simple mastectomy. She never smoked a cigarette in her life and probably only had a glass of wine a handful of times. She wasn't obese (still isn't). So she had no markers for the 50%, 90% or 120% increase in vulnerability for recurrence. Now, I know that the exception doesn't make the rule, but come on, people! Why not just do another article about how "the experts" don't want us to drink or smoke ... or be fat! I'm okay with that, but not with scare tactics.

Smoking, drinking and obesity also contribute to other health problems so it REALLY makes sense to take control over these factors to have a better quality of life and a longer life. Thanks for the update. You always do a great job.
