This is a great article and I really appreciate the need for awareness on this topic, but Lillie... That's a load of hooey that lymphedema does not cause pain. I can hardly pick up my kids when mine flares up, and tell that to my dear friend who is so swollen after hip radiation to treate bone mets that she is now in serious pain management for the lymphedema in her legs and feet. Great article otherwise... but take if from a few gals who have lymphedema. This stuff is extremely painful at times... even when it is under control.

Some time I have it. It comes and goes. I read that using light weights can relive the swelling. Thanks for the information,.

I am one of those who has developed chronic lymphedma. It is disfiguring. Hard to find sleeves that fit. It can be uncomfortable. It has led to multiple bouts of cellulitis requiring hospitalization. BUT - it is not cancer. Eyes on the prize! I'll take it over cancer any day of the week. It can be dealt with.

Great article but lymphedema is painful. I have a very mild case but it is painful and debilitating. Even though I use a compression sleeve to alleviate the pressure, it is a very tender area.
