No footnotes, with general assumptions. That fly in the face of multiple studies on the contrary. When you have a society that is criticaly low on a variety of nutrients. It is reckless to discourage any proactive behaviors. In the study that she quotes on Post-Menopausal women, well Here are some studies: Intake of vitamin D and calcium associated with lower risk of breast cancer before menopause JAMA Arch Intern Med. 2007;167:1050-1059 Vitamin D and breast cancer risk /German Cancer Research Center, DKFZ The result of the study involving 1,394 breast cancer patients and an equal number of healthy women after menopause was surprisingly clear: Women with a very low blood level of 25(OH)D have a considerably increased breast cancer risk. Increased Vitamin B consumption reduces women's risk of colorectal cancer Bethesda, Maryland (June 3, 2005) – According to a study published in the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) journal Gastroenterology, women with a high dietary intake of vitamin B6 over several years have a decreased risk of colorectal cancer (CRC). Women who consume moderate to large amounts of alcohol in addition to vitamin B6 have more than a 70 percent reduced risk of developing CRC. Even though I am not here to re-educate, and arguments can be made in either direction. My only point the issue is not black and white. Yes eat well, exercise, stay away from bad stuff (i.e. some red wine maybe :) ), and educate yourself in a balanced manner...How many people will this article harm, by using a non balanced sledge hammer point of view ? Darn

Well, vitamins won't stop global warming either, so don't take them ... give me a break. I agree with Ralph T. that discouraging the use of vitamins is not going to be helpful in the long run.
