i hate my huge breasts that hang down to my waist - i used to be a 34 B. i dont have cancer but i want them gone. they are so uncomfortable and grotesque. i never ever liked big boobs - my 34 b's were enough for me - but i had kids and gained lots of weight. i just feel if i could get rid of these disgusting breasts i could start having a better life. my sister died of breast cancer. i dont get mammograms because i dont care - i just need to find out how much a double mastectomy costs ( and not a drive through like my sister had ) can anyone help ? dianer

It is not as easy as "how much does this cost?" This is a huge surgery! Not only is it huge, it causes disfigurement issues for so many of us, and not all of us have had bilateral mastectomies. Most disturbing part of your post? "I don't get mammograms because I don't care...." Boy-if I had the luxury of not caring. Instead, I got breast cancer at age 31....WELL before we are even told to. I DO care, and I got cancer. I have a husband and son, and I CARE enough about them that I fought like hell to stay alive. Good grief-have you no tact? Take a poll of 100 random women and see if they had been given the choice between saggy breasts and LIFE, or perky/hamburger bun shaped/hard as rocks/NO sexual sensation breasts, what do you think we'd all choose? Save your money. It sounds as though you may need it for mental health services.

this is really weird - I left a comment a few weeks ago about my opinion that the reconstructed breasts were weird looking and the nipples freaky....and why I opted for no reconstruction whatsoever and have been happy enough with my decision and totally flat chest. I checked back on this site and my comments were gone!! (my comment was I think right before comment 11 which looks like a response to my opinion of the tatooed nipples.) Are the breast surgeons monitoring these comments and getting rid of anything they perceive as anti-surgery???? I did not say anything out of line other than my opinion that no reconstruction is in fact a viable option - so who is removing comments from this site????? Is BIG Brother out there? Ladies, let's have a real free uncensored conversation here!
