I have been told i have dense breast tissue. I am not a baby when it comes to pain but...... having a mammograph is getting more painful each year. I have never thought of having an digital mammograph. I will talk to my doctor about having one done next year. Thank you for the useful information.

I quit drinking Coke and started drinking iced tea...my cysts came back...so yes, for myself, caffeine is the culprit...now I drink caffeine free coke.

I've had lumpectomies (1st @ 26!) for fibrocystic breasts, had Drs. tell me I had cancer (benign), insurance tell me I wasn't old enough to cover a mammogram, and very painful exams. In the end, get the exam, trust your Dr., (even if it's precautionary) and follow up. I've had many in my family die of breast cancer; I've been borderline several times. (Precancerous) It's better to be safe than dorry.

I read that article and found it so informative. I think that's what I had in the past, but the doctor just said something was different with the tissue. I had a biopsy and it came back fine. Keep up with the good information.

I have been fibrocyistic since age 18 and found your discription amusing and quite accurate according to the digital scan I just had.Fatty Boobs well I guess yes Hurray for old age.Thanks for the article.

Nice article. But I am wondering why when my
aunt had breast cancer the doctor told her
that having lumpy breasts does indeed increase
your chances of getting it. I had a lump removed 4 years ago
at age 34 and was told I had extreme lumpy breasts!
Lucky for me it was not cancer.

The message of this article is quite simple and clear, namely, it is a condition but not a disease. It won't increase the chance of having cancer except increasing the difficulty to find the small size cancerous lesion. Ultrasonographic examination done by a skillful experienced person is a very useful alternative and in fact this modality is much better than mammography in those dense breast.

As I increased my green tea intake my lumpiness subsided and the pain that went with it. I had a digital mammogram. I have had alot of soreness since that mammogram in the area that was dense tissue. It feels like the underlying muscle was tramatised.

i have it and this was explained to me years ago. however through the years most everyone i spoke to in regards to this did not know this and that it wasnt anything to worry about.infact my last husband became extremly scarerd one time,and even after explaning it to him he still made me go to a Dr.

I have very lumpy breasts and although I regularly do my monthly breast exams, I can't keep track of all of the lumps and bumps! I have had many of them checked out and have gone in regularly for ultrasounds and exams, but I wish there was a monthly chart available to record any abnormalities as well as the dates I have done the examinations. Does anyone know of any such resources?

Hi there I read about how some times when getting your Mammogram it is not very confortable.Some places use a Mammopad it is put on the cold plate and makes it more confortable.
Lillie this is not ad for the Memmopad, just information. If you want some more information you can look it up. It will tell you what places us it.
