Best thing to control my fibrocystic has been Vitamin E - NOT the regular stuff you grab off the shelf, though - have to get _D-alpha tocopherol_ ("right-handed" stuff), NOT the D,L-alpha tocopherol. It costs more, but is worth it. 400 IU daily has done the trick - takes a month or so to kick in and wear off if you stop. It does have a shortish shelf life so don't get more than 100 at a time unless you keep some in the fridge.

My daughter has this very painful and uncomfortable at best "condition" and in fact her Breast Dr. who is an oncologist disagrees with these findings it is fact a disease not a condition. There are allot of different herbal and vitamin therepes that have helped lesson the size and therefor helped with her pain. Evening primrose at high doses and fish oil caplets as well.

what I don't see mentioned is that it can be a sign that you are deficient in iodine. Our RDA for iodine in the US is shockingly lower than in the rest of the world and since we replaced iodine in bread with bromine, iodine deficiency is getting more common.

I liked the article. I, myself, have fibrocystic tissue. I think that more women have it than not.

Any discussion of FBD that omits a mention of iodine supplementation is not written by someone who knows about nutrition and health. Iodine can cure FBD.

I would like Lillie to comment on a contradictory conclusion regarding risks associated with dense breasts. Dr. Janet Garguilo, a medical oncologist of New York Oncology Hematology can be heard on Thehealthshow.org #1072 titled "So What's New in Breast Cancer Part 1" At minute 4:00 she says "studies in the last 6-10 years show clearly it IS 3 to 4 times more likely that women with dense breasts will develop breast cancer than the average woman".
