I somehow doubt that just eating right, excercising and avoiding alcohol can help with breast cancer. I know several women who had been diagnosed with it who were healthy, ate right, excercised, didn't smoke and didn't drink, and they still managed to get breast cancer. This advice seems trite and not well researched. Where is the proof that these measures truly work?

This article is only full of old news. Why is it that the so called professionals ignore the true breast cancer causes: Bra wearing http://www.all-natural.com/bras.html and estrogen dominance caused by soy in our diets and environment http://www.totalityofbeing.com/FramelessPages/Articles/breast_cancer.html and http://www.soyonlineservice.co.nz/

In your article on preventing breast cancer, you promulgate the myth that fats are bad. You yourself don't apparently believe it because you suggest a low fat diet, yet the only food you suggest should be avoided is "sweets" and "treats". You equate weight loss with a "low fat" diet. This keeps the myth alive that fats are bad. They're not. Trans fats are bad. We are suffering a lot of health problems in our country because we have maligned all fats and consequently we are less healthy than we should be.

I am a 47yr old healthy white female with four children. If the general population believes the medical profession/ researchers ever want to find a cure you are all fooling yourselves. the best you can hope for is slash, burn, drugs and reconstruction w/ alot of pain and suffering. We have to look for alternatives and prevention such as breastfeeding, organics, exercise, detox, avoiding prescription medication, etc. They are making half a million on each case. One in Eight getting breast cancer. Just like all health issues women need to stand up and take responsibility for their own health, because the medical profession "cures" are so destructive to living a healthy life. If I get it, which I doubt, I will go to Mexico for alternatives. Sincerely. N

I STILL WORRY ABOUT THE REMAINING BREAST, AND TAKE ARIMEDEX TO WARD OFF THE POSSIBILITY. ANY ARTICLE HELPS US ALL, WE STUMBLE AROUND LOOKING FOR HELP, AND ARE NOT ALWAYS REWARDED. This article was certain helpful although I am already aware of the current issues that may prevent breast cancer. Drinking green tea is also a great way to boost up one's metabolism and we also benefit from the many antioxidants that are in green tea. So drink up! It also slows down the aging process.
