Well, lol, I have fibro fog due to fibromyalgia and now the chemo fog or chemo brain. Wonder what will be next. Maybe radiation brain. My 36 year old son thinks I'm a real mental patient as I can't remember a lot of things. He even goes so far as to call me a liar and stupid over various issues. Hope he never has to deal with fibro fog and chemo brain.

My sister is 52 and she has gone through surgeries to remove her two breasts because of cancer. We thought that was the end but now she is having pain under her left arm where all the problem started. She is in the village in Nigeria but travells to the city for surgery and treatments. Now they said that they have to put her through a machine I really do not understand it because she has already gone through chemo. I paid for all her surgeries and treatments, that has left me broke. I am not ready for this machine issue. She has to remain in the village with our aged mother until I can raise the money for her next treatment. What is this machine they told her about, does anybody know. My sister is not educated, that has been a factor too.

I'm starting to get my cognitive ability back my last chemo was in early 2006. It was very scary to not be able to remember even simple words , make decisions about simple things like what to wear, I couldn't concentrate, had terrible insomnia, have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia recently. I've always had chronic back pain but the chemo made it worse and now in addition neuropathy of my feet and legs.I'm really glad to find a site where I can see I'm not the only one, my doctors treated me like I was nuts or a malingerer, its hard when people don't believe you.

I am a breast cancer survivor of "about" 15 years. I say "about" as I can't remember exactly what year it was! This may sound silly to you but, it sure isn't to me. Yes, I, as well as my family, definately noticed a big problem with the memory issues while taking the chemo. My oncologist constantly assured me it had nothing to do with the chemo, just stress, etc, as I also went through a divorce at the same time. The memory got a little better and I got a lot better a covering an "frounting". I worked in dental offices and noticed I became less adept at procedures, remembering to do things in a timely manner, and overall performance. I lucily worked with dentists that were very understanding and supportinve. That didn't last for ever. I am now in a position that I have been fired from the last two jobs I had because of not being able to perform some very basic tasks. Where I once managed an office staff of 12 and made very good money, my last job was fileing and answering the phone for $8.00 an hour. Some days I don't even know what day of the week it is, where I parked my car, or how to get to the other side of town. It is also very hard when you talk to your Dr about this and they ask questions like "who was the last president" and you have no idea. My point is, I don't buy that the memory problems are tempory. I and my family have noted the persistance of the memory issue through the years. I'd sure like to hear from others that have had the same issue . I'm trying to get on disability but am told there is not enough evidence. Please mail me at deederllynn@yahoo.com with your comments.
