Another thing genetic testing does is keep track of those who are tested. I qualified because of my family history so my health insurance footed the $3,000 bill. I was negative for what we know about genetic breast cancer testing. I was also told to keep in touch with the only lab in the country currently keeping the data on genetic testing because in the future they may find more information regarding breast cancer and genetic testing and they will let me know if I may have a positive marker. For those of you out there who do get genetic counseling, it should help you mentally ~ I know it did me, just to know for sure.

My sister had two different kinds of cancer; breast & ovarian. She died at age 50. My mom's sister died also from breast cancer at age 57. What are my chances of getting breast cancer?
