United Ostomy Associations of America

National. 240 affiliates. Founded 2005. Dedicated to helping every person with an ostomy and related surgeries return to normal living. Also has support groups for parents of children with ostomies, teens, young adults, gay, lesbian and transgenders and those who have had a continent diversion. Provides education, support to local groups, national identity and affiliate development help, visitation program and quarterly magazine. Chapter development help. Local group directory on website.

International network. Founded 1988. Support and information for families with children born with anorectal, colorectal or urogenital disorders and any of the associated diagnoses. Disorders include cloacal, bladder exstrophy, imperforate anus, VATER/VACTERL association, anal stenosis, cloacal exstrophy and Hirschsprung's disease and associated diagnoses. Maintains a database for member networking. Quarterly magazine, online discussion group, weekly chat for members, phone support and literature. Dues $30/year - free membership upon request.
