Several other skin conditions may have symptoms similar to skin cancer. These include:
- Noncancerous (benign) growths, such as cysts, warts, moles, skin tags, and scars.
- Precancerous growths, such as solar or actinic keratoses.
- Skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, or seborrheic keratosis.
- Inflammations caused by lupus.
- Fungal infections, such as ringworm.
- Bacterial infections, such as impetigo.
- Melanoma.
