During a physical exam to evaluate a possible blood clot in a deep leg vein (deep vein thrombosis), the health professional will:
- Listen to your heart and lungs.
- Check the pulses in your legs and feet.
- Look at your legs for swelling, bulging veins, and/or discoloration.
- Feel your legs for tender, warm, or swollen areas.
