Usually, dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) results from unpredictable hormonal changes and therefore cannot be prevented. However, being overweight can impact your hormone production, increasing your risk of developing irregular menstrual bleeding. If you are overweight, losing weight may help prevent dysfunctional uterine bleeding from developing.
