Ever since toddlerdom, scissors have doubled as both a constructive tool and a looks-destroying weapon. The uncertainty of getting a new ‘do is enough to make you postpone the appointment. Stella found a way to spruce up her cut without taking a risk.
Stella's Story
"Getting a haircut and doing something different is always traumatic."
I usually get layers, really long layers. I have always gone with the long layer cut, which I like and it works for me, it works for my lifestyle. But I thought I would just try something different for the holiday season and dressing up. You are always going to parties and different events and dressing up a little bit more, so I decided to have something a little bit different, something that just puts a little spark in your every day existence.
"I decided to get bangs."
I haven't had bangs for a long time and I just wanted a change. Before my appointment I was asking people, "Should I get bangs, should I not?" and trying to just fiddle with my hair to see if it would work or not in front of the mirror. My hairdresser talked me into it, and we decided to do it on one side to get the effect rather than going full blown. Just knowing that little thing is there makes my hair day a little bit more fun.
"Getting my hair done now, as an adult, I like it much better than when I was a teenager."
Especially when you have to pay for it on your own, it is like I am going to do something special. Once you find a great hair stylist and you trust them, it is a treat because you know you are going to come back looking really great. It might just be a little bit of a change each time, but for me, it is enough to make me feel different and make me feel special.
