You have answered "Yes" to a question that indicates your child needs an appointment to see a health professional within the next 1 to 2 weeks. Call your child's health professional's office to discuss your child's symptoms and arrange for care.

  • Symptoms may indicate a health problem that will not improve without medical treatment.
    • Symptoms have been present for 2 weeks (or the specified time period). They are not getting worse, but they are not improving with home treatment; or
    • Symptoms are related to a previously diagnosed health problem and are getting worse or becoming bothersome.
  • If appropriate, try home treatment while waiting for the appointment.
  • Call your child's health professional if symptoms get worse.

Return to the Check Your Symptoms section and complete the questions. If your child has other more serious symptoms, your child may need to see a health professional sooner.
