Medical history for chickenpox

Provided by: Healthwise
Not yet rated

Once the distinctive chickenpox rash is identified, your health professional may ask you some questions to confirm a diagnosis, such as:

  • How many days has it been since you (or your child) were in contact with someone who has chickenpox?
  • Does someone in your home have chickenpox?
  • Do you (or your child) have any other medical conditions that may interfere with the body's natural defense system (impaired immune system)?
  • Do you (or your child) have any signs of complications of chickenpox, such as severe headache, unusual sleepiness, or constant vomiting?
