Some medical tests give results in milliosmoles per kilogram (mOsm/kg) of water.
- An osmole is an amount of a substance that contains a large number (6 followed by 23 zeros) of molecules or atoms. A milliosmole is one-thousandth of an osmole.
- A kilogram is about 2.2 pounds.
